Since last reported in January, our weather has made some signifcant improvements. Last week we had sunny skies and 70's all around. This week, not so much. We've had rain, but it's much needed. Among the benefits will be increased forage for our gilled friends. High lake levels have made the last few years create some great spawns, and this spring we should be able to take advantage of the growth in the last years. Trout, on the other hand, is always great. Having grown up in Northern Illinois, I thought the only clear water on earth came from a tap, then I moved here.
People shop for land and houses here for a variety of reasons. Locals generally want a roof over their head they can call their own. Folks from all over the country come here for vacation cottages, retirement homes, and investment opportunities among other reasons. Our area offers all those and more. While property values here have not fallen near as much as they have in other areas, many places have spent more time on the market than they have in previous years. What that means to buyers is they are in a strong position, probably the strongest position buyers here have been in years. If you were interested in our area, now would be a good time to start investigating what is available. In a few years when the national economy returns to form, and people from all over are able to move about again, well, I'm going to want to be a seller then.
Come to Arkansas folks. You'll be glad you did. You will probably meet some of your old neighbors!
